Republicans In Turmoil

Republicans in Turmoil

The Republican Congressional gains in the 2014 mid-term elections were touted as an opportunity to advance a conservative agenda. However, so far, Republicans have stumbled and fumbled while President Obama has been on a roll.

President Obama has turned the post-election landscape into a contest between two competing visions for the direction of the country. By acting alone on climate change, immigration, and Cuba, the President showed the American people what his agenda looks like.

Meanwhile, Republicans have opposed tax cuts for the middle class, free community college, and tried to take away health care from millions. The President has appealed to economic middle of the country while Senate Republicans spent an entire month passing a bill that is a gift for Big Oil (Keystone XL Pipeline). They passed the bill, and President Obama vetoed it.
